Tonight the U.S. gov't is furnishing me paper but I wouldnt say it was too high class. It is easy to write on [illegible] if I could just think of something to say. Our O.D. tonight is a fine fellow, I think he is my favorite officer in the squadron. Young fellow and he liked football so we can have something to talk about. He went to Ohio University and was a first rate guard. At last Im going to get to drive a Jeep I've wanted to ever since I've been in the army but somehow never got a chance to before.At night they let us use it to make the rounds, waking fellows on combat crews and seeing that the lights are shut out etc. I hope we stay here at Rattlesnake Gulch and don't move over to the main base as we have lots more freedom here, we are hauled back and forth in G. I. trucks which surely beats walking. I believe the weather is getting a bit colder than it was before the first of the year but certainly not bad
