Feb. 10, 1943 Tucson, Ariz. Dear Dad & Mom: Today was a vacation for me no work as all the planes are grounded and it seemed good. All we did was install a couple of new couplings in the hydraulic brake line the rest of the time we just loafed in the sun. [It?] didn't thaw the ice from last nights freeze until about noon, that was the coldest night [we've?] had about 20 degrees above I think. My arms are still sore from the [illegible] I [illegible] the other day (Monday morn) but they aren't so bad. Some of the [illegible] arms are really puffed up and red. I'll be glad when the whole series are [over?] again and I want the [battered?] for another year as if things get cleaned here again. I don't know how much longer it will be but the sooner the better. Dad have you sold me the corn from the [illegible] place yet? I am sure will need the feed and on my farm and I believe the price of pork + beef will make it pay and all right. Have you + Bill sold off the extra calves or has the weather been too unfavorable? We must get rid of the calf too as he will just run wild and never amount to anything so Bill hasn't time to fool with him and having the tractor he won't need him in the spring work. If nobody wants him try and sell him at the auction sale or let some one take him to break and use for two or three years, he is only a nuisance on the place also if
