Feb. 25, 1943 Tucson, Ariz. Dear Dad + Mom: You folks really begat a scatchman when you had me. This piece of paper was the backing on a pad of stationary but it looked too good to throw away so Im writing on it. Im sorry I missed writing a couple of days but I just didnt have a minute. My plane has been flying steady and just little things have gone wrong with it. Changed a tire and put on a new brake line in less than an hour this afternoon and that is almost a record. Today its been quite cold down here not really cold but overcast and gray it seems as tho this cold penetrates right thru. Wore my sheep skin lined jacket all day long and was none too hot. Im so glad your weather is warming up a bit this time of year you can begin to expect something better than 20 below. In another month we should know whether we will move or not. Hear a lovely rumor today we may go to Pocatello Idaho or (new) Rapid City S. Dak. I'd like to go out there right on the edge of the Black Hills. Got your Sunday letter today, was very glad to get it. Any news from home seems goo since Ive been home my mail
