Dear Dad + Mom: This has been a queer day when I got up this morning it was raining a bit but not hard. before nine it was clear and the sun was shining brightly. We got all the planes ready to fly but before they took off it had clouded up again and the wind was blowing a gale. Some dark clouds were banking up and before we could get the planes moored and the engines cornered we had a regular cloudburst. It must have rained 3 or 4 inches in about an hour the it quit for a short time and since. Hard real thunder and lightening too sounded like a thunder shower at home. Got your Mar. 1st letter this noon and two cards from the church this afternoon, one from the Chas. Howards and the other from John Durschers they both have sent me every time my name has been up. This morning I was pulling the chocks out from behind the airplane wheels and I straightened up quick and bumped my head on the wheel pairing. I really saw stars, just cut my head enough for it to bleed
