maybe buy something I want someday. If not it's a satisfaction to know I saved it. Had a nice letter from Irene Ballard Anderson and Andy. Enjoyed it a lot and she also sent a snap shot of their little girl. she is a sturdy little youngster. Tell the Ballards I had the letter. Ernie would appreciate it I expect. Greening is the boy whom I bet with about when the war would be over so if perchance you get a letter with three bucks in it you will know about it. The other day I went over to the hospital to visit a friend who had just undergone an operation for [mastoid?] He was getting along fine it is comical to see him in a hospital bed perhaps I have spoken of him he is about 6' 6" and weights about 240 lbs, there are about 3 bends in him so his feet dont stick out. What I was going to say tho the ward boy in his ward was a fellow I knew down at Sheppard Field in basic training. He is still a private so I cant kick, can I? He is an Indiana boy who knows Spike Kelly the Fayette fellow, Doe Dormans protege who sens U.S.U. the football players Should write some more letters so I'll cut this a little short tonight. Love Johnny
