March 14, 1943 Tucson, Ariz Dear Dad & Mom: Just played three games of pinnochle and my partner & I got beat on the rubber. Lots of fun tho & thats what counts. Fine day today, warm and sunshiny and we were busy all day. Had a fifty hour inspection and everything went pretty good. Got a letter from you today, glad to hear about the cookies, but please dont ever short yourselves because while they taste mighty good I am well fed and can get along. You and busy [Nagel?] are getting quite chummy. I should write to John N. he has written me a couple of times. Send me old [Bueles?] address and I'll try and write to him. I sent a letter to [illegible] airmail mailed it the 8th so it should reach him in time. They were the same figure as I sent you so its all right. Made out a new bond allottment yesterday but didnt raise the amount any, still $6.25 for month. I think that is enough but expect it is a good way to save. I guess they are tax free so a guy couldnt go far wrong on the deal. Had pretty good chow tonight chop suey and
