March 29, 1942 Tucson, Arizona Dear Dad & Mom: I'll write on some of Aunt Jennie's Christmas stationary tonight as I'm out of other envelopes until I get to the P.X. Was very nice and I should be ashamed to write with pencil but it is lots easier. Got a letter from you this afternoon, got the paper yesterday and have enjoyed reading about all my life. Did they get the historical data from Dad? I expect he is the most eminent historian left in Fayette Co. since Darnall. He has the best collection of old histories I expect. It has been extremely hot again today it is almost unbearable to work on the wings. We are all getting as brown as indians, severalof the fellows have bad sunburn from going about without shirts but I learned my lesson early in life at Frog [illegible], boy I suffered from that burning I got down there. We had to turn in our sheets and pillow cases today as we will sleep on mattresses & under just blankts of course we only had one anyhow. Its funny
