Really it isn't bad tho and I do like it here Im glad Buck got his furlough and know how much he is enjoying it. Those kind of hats he had aren't to be worn in the Air Cargo. Dont know why but they are taboo. Did he mention having a letter from me. I wrote some time ago. When I get home I hope it is nice and warm and flowers are blooming and the corn is coming up etc. Yes I am crew chief again. Dont know whether to be glad or not but Ill just keep plugging away and doing as well as I can and when somebody else cando the job better he can have it and I wont feel badly. My little friend, Greenlee, the horseman from Indiania, had seen one of those horses the Decorah men bought and said he was pretty good. He is really quite a guy, knows pedigrees on rare horses like Uncle Ralph did on his Shires. If its all the same to you I don't think you should send me any more candy. Think Ive been gaining weight lately, this country gives a guy a good appetite. Our show has been very good up here too. Save it up for a raisin pie when & if I get home next month. The candy shipped fine tho wasnt broken in the least. When you pre-flight a plan you set the brakes (or you'll take a ride) then start the engines and let them warm up a bit till you are sure of thorough lubrication. The engines idle about a thousand R. P. M's they are individually run up to about 1800 and
