May 7,1943 Pocatello, Idaho. Dear Dad + Mom: Just listened to Kalttenborn and the war news, this sounds very favorable and as tho we were getting someplace. It wont take so long once the ball really gets rolling. It snowed here today not much on the field but the hills are white but its leaving fast. Its been nasty for three or four days and now it should warm up nicely. It's warmed up quite a bit since this afternoons squall. Sun is shining brightly. My friend [Garner Hays?] was over this morning and we had a long visit. He will try and get a furlough the same time I do and we can ride home together again. Hope this month passes fast. Washed a pair of coveralls an a cap this afternoon, soaked them in Rinso overnight and they came out quite clean. Couldn't tell they had ever been greasy and [boy?] they would stand alone when I started on them. I'm glad the Bills got so well [located?] at Newton and that Claude likes his work so well. So its with one of those [novelty?] companies or what is he doing.
