heel in them putting them on this morning and put about a six inch rip in them. Every once in a while they would rip a little more until there is a hole from my knee up. Ive just been talking to a kid from Birmingham Alabama who according to him lives on a quite a farm. Have 8000 acres of land and milk 750 cows. They have two silos which hold 900 tons of silage figure that one out Pap. Take a pretty big barn for that many cows too wouldnt it. Got a new ship in this afternoon a B-17 (Flying Fortress) which is to be used as a [tow?] target ship for this squadron. Our fellows havent had any of these ships but I guess we can do it okay. Some were taken from each crew and I lost two fellows both good boys for the B-17 crew. Must close for tonight. Love Johnny
