is quite pretty, real grassy and has cotton wood trees which are pretty well leaved out, little stream runs thru it with several foot path bridges over it. The town is just ordinary, has lots of houses that are only just basements like that church in Fort Dodge we used to drive by, maybe when they get more money they will finish them. All in all I had a very enjoyable evening. Today the ship has flown fine has come in from five different missions with an okay on every flight. Have only one more engine to change very soon unless of course something goes wrong. The last one I installed was brand new [illegible] overhauled so I should have good luck with it. Had a letter from Ruby today and one from you with th eclipping about Fatty [Bowen?] in it. I expect lots of strategy is planned out in just such moonlight raids. Boy it sounds like you got a lot of good things to eat with the last of your [illegible] Im glad Grandmother is better and feeling a little more cheerful. I will write whenever I find time but Im pretty slow I guess. Poor Burns Chandler has had a bad time of it lately hope his operation is a success he had always been nice to me and I like him a lot. One of our pilots comes from Lanesboro. Iowa. went thru Buena Vista College + knew [Milou?] used to drive back + forth with him sometimes I will write M. about it he should enjoy hearing about it. Have to study up on the B-24-D airplane we are to have a quiz on it one of these days and I dont want to be too dumb about something Im supposed to know about Love Johnny
