May 29, 1943 Dear Dad + Mom: Well Ive had a busy afternoon getting six fellows lined up to be M.P's for the big party coming up June 2. Also Im on a committee for entertainment so we had lots of things to talk over this aft. We wont the Efficiency Flag again this week which please our C.O and [adjudent?] Our squadron fund is quite sizeable so they are making it a grand affair. Think most everyone plants to go. Another good day warm but quite windy. Guess its true what they said about Idaho folks always standing at an angle, leaning into the wind. The dust doesn't blow nearly as bad as at first for grass is getting enough growth to hold it. Washed a few clothes after dinner but couldnt hang them out because the wind blew so. When I come home I want to bring back some of those little clothespins I think I remember you buying on our first trip to Florida. They would really be handy. We start wearing khakis soon hope not too soon tho. There is no kind of blouse or jacket allowed with them and some of these evenings would be cold.
