June 2, 1943 Pocatello, Idaho Dear Dad + Mom: Another rainy day with no flying rained, hailed and snowed and once the sun broke thru for about five minutes. The mountains are white again and it looks quite deep. Dont believe summer or even spring will ever get here. One of the fellows just brought in the mail and I got two letters from you, both left W.U. 6:30 may 31. Jut read them both they were very newsy and I enjoyed them and the clippings very much thought the little poem was very good and believe I know how the writer feels. Also got a kick out of the description of a man following foru good horses on a drag. I have an accurate picture in my mind just how it looks. Should go over and get some chow now and get ready for the big party. The weather is not pleasant but perhaps everyone will enjoy themselves. Excuse this being so short. Im still mad about the furlough. Love Johnny
