June 8, 1943 Pocatello, Idaho Dear Dad + Mom: Got the argo today and read it thru pretty thoroughly always seems goo to get even if some of the guys do laugh about my country weekly. Ive got a charley horse in my leg have been kicking a football around some in my spare time and boy is my leg sore. It will soon work out tho. Im really glad to hear Mr. Chandler is better and hope he continues to improve. He has a pretty rough time of it. From the looks of the paper last week was a week of funerals. Should have like to have seen Mr. Lynch I know he makes a fine looking officer whish we had him in our outfit. Seems like he had a short sty in West Union but even that would be a treat. Didnt have my inspection today as I expected as there were no crews to fly it last night. Will pull it tomorrow morning
