Expect you had a nice time at Wingers it is a good close place to walk to anyhow and Im sure it was an enjoyable evening. Must write Harry at least a card some night when I have a moment. Maybe Uncle Raymonds could bring Grandma up to see you when the work gets caught up a little I think he can get a little more gas than you can. I want be home before my birthday but want to be by then anything can happen tho so I wont plan on it as much as I did before until I get the papers in my hands. Just took two new khaki shirts down to the P.X. and had stripes and a shoulder patch sewed on them. My sewing is not so hot doesnt hold like a machine stitch, my shirts are 17 1/2 so ill have to have them dry cleaned because if they shrink they will fit too soon. The afternoons mail just came in and I got a letter from you. Glad my bank account is growing a little want to get a little ahead now if I can maybe I can put it to good use when I get out of here. Expect my drivers because wont matter if I have 60 days to get it in when I get out but if I came home on furlough would they let me drive, sure want to I see they generously allow a soldier 5 gallons of gas when on furlough. Boy when I think of the thousands of gallons we burn up here it makes me shudder. Cant think of anything to write so will quit for tonight. Love Johnny
