As long as we dont have a ship our engineering officer let two more fellows go on furlough off our crew. That leave only two more fellows ahead an one tied with for time. This 7 days and travelling time means two weeks for a lot of guys and should get me 11 days if + when. Burns Chandler must be getting along better than was expected. Im glad Pap goes down to see him be sure and have him say hello for me. Maybe your mosquitos are like some they tell about down in Mississippi. A swarm came into an airfield and a rookie soldier refueled six before he found out they weren't P-38's. Dont know just how many gallons of gas they held but it was descriptive of their size. There was a crew of men from here who went over to Wendover to change an engine on one of our ships which was forced down there. They only expected to be gone a day or so didnt take razors, change of clothes or anything they just got back after nine days, weather was such that they couldn't get back. No News. Love Johnny
