June 17, 1943 Pocatello, Idaho Dear Dad + Mom: Just came back from chow not so hot tonight, Mulligan stew, macaroni + cheese and tomatoes cold out of the can. The tomatoes were good however and was all I ate not being too fond of the other two. These army stews are mysterious in looks, smell and taste. Its been another good day here sun shone all day and the wind didnt blow. Doesn't even look like rain altho the wind is coming up and may blow up something would be quite a shock to have two sunny days in arrow. Im listening to Henry Aldrich and trying to write at the same time but am having an awful time of it. Expect you are listening to it
