June 29, 1943 Pocatello, Idaho Dear Dad + Mom + Grandma: Sorry to have missed a couple of days but have been mighty busy with engine changes inspections etc. Only got a couple of hours sleep Sunday night and last morning 2 was just too tired to write. Today hasnt been so bad. this afternoon we had to change a wheel which was broken and [illegible] up a new tire and a new wheel. Got the papers today and have read them thru. Saw the picture of the rattlesnake hunters,[Ruden?] [illegible] + Martin and some of the eastern guys. here think I must live in some pretty wild country Wonder if they know this camp is located partly on the Blackfoot indian reservation they would expect to be scalped I presume. Tomorrow we get paid so all us G.I's will be happy, Just that some expression a soldier as will as all his equipment is a G.I. Civilians working in the hanger and around the [illegible] are feather merchants.
