Had a big inspection today by the C.O. and another Major went thru the barracks with a fine tooth comb, but guess everything was okay as I didn't hear anything about it. Our soft ball team won another game tonight, that leaves one more but the toughest yet to go. A new squadron which just moved in has a very good team organized, several All American athletes on it. Basket ball and foot ball men and are they big. It sure gets cold here now at night real fall weather. Two blankets are none too many a fellow will soon be throwing his overcoat on at night. The fellows are even talking about building a fire in the stoves. Don't know when you folks have had a better garden or kept it up with less work. Pop you'd better have a ring first in that bulls more after all he's a Halstein & make a white face. He's too good to lose but they don't pay to fool with. Love, Johnny
