Sept 2, 1943 Pocatello , Idaho Dear Dad, Mom + Grandma: Got another airplane yesterday just out of the depot from overhaul. Has been repainted and seems to fly pretty well, I guess its better to have a ship than not but the vacation seemed good. Our soft ball team won another thriller last night, they were playing a [rubber?] game with another outfit on the base which we wanted to win very badly. The other team was leading 7-0 at the 1st of the 6th inning, the last of the 6th it was 7-4 and in the last of the 7th they got three more runs in tieing the score and then with two outs and two strikes one of the guys hit a home run bringing in two runs and winning 9-7. Boy it was a good game. Mighty cold here mornings hope it stays warm back home until that corn crop is made, according to Beall it isn't too far along execept for Ole Johnstons place on 18. Doesn't seem time for school to be starting again but when I look at the date I see it is. West union doesn't pick their
