September 7, 1943 Pocatello, Idaho Dear Dad, Mom & Grandma: This has been a bad day. inspectors all over the field from the [Second?] Wing. Havent had any [handings?] out as yet but have expected it. They go over your plane, your records and you at [illegible] and at the same time. Happy day. Had an inspection day before yesterday which carried over till the next day. Was too tired or lazy to write. Tonight Im writing over in the [underly?] room where there is a desk and some light, I am visiting with the [G.Q?] he is one of my buddies from Minnesota. Still stays cold here nights fellows have started wearing their O.D. uniforms. Have had orders to keep fires in the barracks nights from six until nine in the mornings. Have kind of made plans to drive over into Yellowstone Park with one of the fellows soon. He has a pretty good car and it isnt too far, it's that fellow Ive spoken of from [Kalispell?] Mont. He went home for his car a short time ago.
