Sept. 8, 1943 Pocatello, Idaho Dear Dad, Mom & Grandma: Another cool night just put some more coal in the fire and it should last till morning. We have those stones that can be filled clear up if you like and will last for a long time. Would like to have one for my [illegible] when I get out of here. According to Bealls paper the corn still needs lots of warm weather hope it doesnt require as much as he seems to think. He is such an old maid tho I dont always pay too much attention to his predictions. Washed a bunch of underwear and sox tonight and hung them out. Have to wash a woolen undershirt now which makes a little more work. I have clothes pin enough and think that I can repair them in case of failure. Boy is that a blow to my mechanical ability man. Enjoyed reading about the fair and seeing the pictures and winners in the various live stock classes. Young [Wenger?] has done very well the last two years with his club calves.
