Eagle clutching leaves/flowers with caption UNITED STATES ARMY [Decoration] September 13, 1943 Bacatello [town?] Idaho Dear Dad, Mom & Grandma: I left here Saturday afternoon about four o clock with three other fellows headed for Yellowstone Park. One of my friends ( the kalsspell [name?] one) has a 1936 ford sedan and happened to have some extra gas tickets, so the trip was made possible We drove as far as Saint Anthony and stopped for supper, had a very good meal and kept driving. Arrived at West Yellowstone about 11 o clock. Got a grand cabin, a double one with hot showers & inner spring bed. Was reasonable too, 4 bunks for the four of us, rather expected to be held up so was especially pleased. I get up shortly after day light shaned [?] and cleaned up and wake the other fellows. We get breakfast in one of the cafés there hot cakes and sausage and went into the park about 7:30. It was beautiful day cold in the morning but it soon warmed
