Sept. 25, 1942 Pocatello, Idaho Dear Dad, Mom + Grandma: Worked late last night so didn't get a letter written. Our ships are still making overwater missions so nights are the busy times for they leave bright and early and don't get back until late. Tomorrow is the last one I believe for several weeks. That's okay with me too. My ship has been doing very well only trouble has been with the radio which isn't my responsibility. Has been cold here for several days but tonight it is warmer and looks very much like rain. That would be a treat hasn't rained for at least two months and the surrounding country is certainly dry and parched. Our lone [zenia?] which survived the work details and having gravel piled on it is still blooming. Has two large blossoms on it now and several buds. I watered it a few times which kind of helped it out I think. It is quite protected from frost which so far hasn't hurt it but it is living on borrowed time. The potato vines etc. have all been frozen, had been when I went to Yellowstone, that is between Pocatello
