ARMY AIR BASE POCATELLO, IDAHO Oct. 1, 1943 Dear Dad, Mom & Grandma: Another good day here in Idaho, very cool this morning but warm now in the sunshine. Another day with little to do as the ship is overwater again. Tomorrow is a fifty hour inspection with some extra work we have to drain the gas tanks and check the fuel booster pumps Means several hours of work on that. Im really stiff today and we didnt do much either, my wind comes in short pants. But after a few nights of football I may toughen up a little. Will be fun if I can just get the time off to do it. Practice is from 5 to 7 every night so I guess I can make it okay. They are doing some more building on the field, enlarging our
