lemon powder, for a drink, three cubes of sugar, [15?] dextrose tablets hard as chalk & just as tasty, stick of gum & four cigarettes. all three rations have the same hard tack but at breakfast there is a raisin & fig bar & canned eggs with meat, supper has a concentrated chocolate bar & canned beef hash. Oh yes morning you have powdered coffee & supper bouillian Glad youve been having such nice weather and the country is so pretty. That was funny about the Boxholm girl remarking how much Adeline looked like you. I have a picture taken of Des Moines of Adeline, [Bubby?] and me almost everyone who sees it says its easy to tell we are brother & sister. Ill bet you did have a good feed at the Sandas', sounds like they supplied you for a week. [illegible] of a good Hereford roast sounds good too. They are nice people even tho kinda odd. So Bill Johnston is almost skinny maybe the army is a good thing for him, wish it could do the same for me. Expect Ill lose a little with the football season. Ive really been stiff but now the old muscles are becoming accustomed to the grind and dont complain so much must close for today. Love Johnny
