Oct. 10, 1943 Pocatello, Idaho Dear Dad, Mom & Grandma: Its raining here this evening and we have fires going in all the stoves, feel good too. Very gray and dismal and the wind is howling a typical nasty fall day, kind of like November at home. Had some washing on my line which got wet but I guess another rinsing wont hurt it. We played a practice game this morning down town at one of the high schools a beautiful field and well grassed over. Looked almost good enough to eat. It was just between ourselves but plenty rough as most everyone got a few bruises, nothing serious tho and if a guy likes to play the game well enough they arent noticed. Mr. Dibble had to go back to Salt Lake without stopping this time as one of the district managers for his company wired he wanted to see him there. He did not finish his business in Boise however so will be back there soon and will stop then. Just got back from chow it was poor again tonight, hamburgers, greasy & with onions cooked in, which I dont like, greasy fried potatoes, watery squash & sad cold slaw so I didnt [illegible] tonight. Say you are well supplied with chickens for a few days arent you. Too bad Mrs Tarson cant help you for awhile, you will
