ARMY AIR BASE POCATELLO, IDAHO Oct. 19, 1943 Pocatello, Idaho Dear Dad, Mom & Grandma: This has been another mean day started snowing about 3 A.M and snowed all day long. By this evening there was about three inches on the ground and five or six on roofs and places where it didnt melt so fast. Started raining about six P.M and most of the snow is gone now. It quit for a short time so I hung out a washing which is getting another rinsing in soft water. We had to clean off the snow from the engines and gun turrets etc and put the covers on them. Had to clean off the snow from the control surfaces every hour so we had something to do even if the ships didnt fly. Cleaned off the entrie ship a little after four so this rain should finish the job nicely. Maybe it will clear tonight but it really doesnt look it. We arent going to get in much flying time if this weather continues
