ARMY AIR BASE POCATELLO, IDAHO Oct. 26, 1943 Pocatello, Idaho Dear Dad, Mom & Grandma: Missed your letter last night because I had to work. one of my night crew had to play basket ball so I took his turn Only worked until about one this morning and then came in and went to bed. Didnt get up until 11 so I had a good sleep This has been a regular indian summer day even to the cob webs flosting thru the air. Was warm in the sun and I believe some of the snow went off the hills around camp. Had a small rumor yesterday, might winter at Orlando Florida but I dont believe it, any more than a lot others circulating around. We had to go thru the gas chamber today to test our masks and make sure we knew how to use them. Just a routine check guess Ive been thru it a dozen times. I was sure a mess, had a scab on my cheek and in putting on my mask quickly I knocked it off. You know how a little cut on the face can bleed I didnt even know it was done but when I
