Chicago Ill. June 27, 1919 Dear Mother: To day a year ago they took a cut at me, I was sicker than the deavel about this time, but it is different to day, Iam feeling fine. I know you was almost as sick as I was, and hope your feeling as good to-day as I am. How little I thought that day, I would be able to fight for my country this year the same day. I am sure thankfull that I am, and you ought to feel the same way. I know you do. I will never for-get the look on dads facen when the Dr. came in to give me the eather, he sure was more scart than I was. Ha. Ha. Well I came out on top that time, and I know I will this time. So dont worry about me. We got a knew address to day altho we are still here and dont know when we are going, here is the address. National Army U.S.
