Chicago Ill July 17, 1917 Dear Mother, We leave for New York City at three oclock tomorrow. I wrote to mayme but sent the wrong address. You send the address to her. I havent got the box you sent yet, but maby I will get it tomorrow, then I can have it to eat on the train, we are sure going this time. so I start to pack at tomorrow at 7 aclock. I believe I will write a letter to [pokey?] and bid all of my friends good bye You dont want to pay any attention to what I tell him I will give him a little B.S. They told us tonight we couldent take our mascots on the ships, they will let us take the monkey but no dogs, I don't know why. We have a band, so will have a good time
