September 5 1917 In a sunney spot in France Dear Sister Eva. I receaved your letter, you mailed it July 28th. I receaved it Sept. 3rd. But from now on we will get it much sooner. You know befor the war it was Austra Hungrey. From the looks of the Fritzies they bring in here, its Austra, Germany Hungrey. I sure hope they had a failure in there crops of acorns, then they wont have any thing to eat, they are grinding them up and putting them in there bread. The people are starving, women and children fall dead on the St. for the want of food. You know how a german loves the Kaiser & Fatherland
