Bloomfield Iowa May 22/62 My Own Dear Husband; Yesterday I wrote you a long letter but I feel irresistably inclined to write you again even it is but a short letter to day. Your letter of the eleventh came after mine was mailed last evening. How glad I was to get it, they do me so much good. Today Mary Liz Young, Miss White, & Mr & Mrs Horn took dinner with me. We all talked of you & wished you could be with us & the joyful times we would all have when you all get back. Lon Young is now Capt of Com A, 17th Regt Iowa Infantry, & is in Gen Pope's division. Mary Liz said, tell you to hunt him up. She is very uneasy about Lon & takes the death of Andy so hard. Last night she & Miss W. came over a little while, she said .she was bound to go to Lon if there was a battle at Corinth. I told her it would encumber him & to stay where he knew she was safe. I gave her a real talking to. She said she felt so much cheered & comforted by me that she would come over often. She is a good girl. I was over to see Capt Moore this evening a few moments. His wound has healed over yet his leg hurts
