AMERICAN YMCA ON ACTIVE SERVICE WITH THE AMERICAN EXPEDITIONARY SERVICE June 15 8 Dear Sister Mig & Irene - I received your [illegible] letters, and was glad to hear from you. I am feeling fine and am as fat as a broom, Did you see the pictures I sent Mamma on Mothers day, if you did you can tell by them that I have gained some. There is something going to happen around this neck of the woods before long, and we hope before long, every one is anxious to end the war it befor another winter. We know what it means to put in a nother winter on this side. It isnt the best place in the world, you can bet on that. I have told Mayme lots of time to stay where she is, I have been over the road she must travle to get here, I have saw nurses, and know what it is. Jane sure glad they wont let her come.
