Jan. 9, 1943 Pocatello, Ida. Dear Dad & Mom: Had to work most of last night so didnt get a chance to write. This cold weather makes plane maintenance a fright. Think perhaps we will move where it is warmer quite soon, perhaps to Florida, one never knows tho in the Army. Just had to stop and put on a pair of wool sox. Took a shower a bit ago and hadnt put any on. These stoves burn you on one side and you freeze on the other. Was about 14 below again this morning and I really felt it. Must answer same questions you asked me. Yes the P.E. O's sent me a Christmas card. Haven't any squadron cards but will try & thank them. Im way behind on my correspondence how ever. Im sure Plegg and Arlene would like a quilt I cant think of a nicer gift. Do wish I could get them a Hudson Bay blanket. Im going to town one of these days soon and have a harness maker make me a good durable wrist watch band havent been able to wear mine for a long time because I couldnt get a band large enough.
