January 19, 1944 Pocatello, Idaho Dear Dad & Mom: This has been a fine winter day sunshiny and warm, melted quite a lot of our snow and ice but we still have a good bit left. Hope we have a lot more days just like it. Have been working hard with our packing. We are sure doing a good job using half inch plywood and two by fours the boxes are regular chests, sturdy as can be, even use lag screws on top bottom and sides. There is a regular man who supervises the job and he said you could tell there is a scotchman on the job because he'd never seen it done with so little wasting material. I'd hate to be furnishing the stuff for this job as it is really running into money. My arm is kind of sore tonight where I bunged it up in football this fall. Don't see why it doesn't get well but perhaps I strained it a little juggling boxes around.
