January 20, 1944 Pocatello, Idaho Dear Dad & Mom: Will just be a note tonight as I have to go back to work for awhile. Don't think I'll work very late perhaps till ten oclock but I'm sure I'll be ready for bed. The work is progressing slowly it seems but we've done a lot of work too. It's been another fine day just under thawing but the sun has shown all day. The walks are a glare of ice where they thawed and slicked up yesterday. The squadron is having a clothing check up tonight but I have all ready had mine. They have them periodically to make sure you haven't lost anything and have your full issue. Didn't get any mail today but maybe I'll get some tomorrow. One of the other squadrons lost a plane today haven't heard any of the particulars. Nothing to write. Love Johnny
