January 22, 1944 Pocatello, Idaho Dear Dad & Mom: Another busy day with my carpenter work, we are getting along pretty well and I'm enjoying the diversion. Would rather do it than work on our airplane anytime. I have a brand new ship which I haven't even gone up to look at the boys have pulled an acceptance check on it and it will fly tomorrow. Say what about that picture of you two I was going to get this Christmas didn't Ernie get them done or didn't he have a chance. This has been a good day but not awfully warm, didn't thaw any tho pleasant. Quit work about five oclock tonight and don't have to go back after supper. They have a [junk?] meal tonight so I'm going into town and get a steak. Have to shave and shower before I go so will make this a bit shorter than usual even. I have a pretty good
