January 26, 1944 Pocatello, Idaho Dear Dad & Mom: Just a note for I must get back to work again tonight. We are really being rushed for time. Scarcely have time to shave and shower. It's been a good day here again, thawed some but no water ran in the streets. The fellows did some painting outside and I guess it didn't freeze. Dad, take it easy, get that fellow from Fredericksburg if you like him. My gosh you've been working long enough to deserve a rest it seems to me. Why they even turn out a horse after years of service, so get some of those green pastures and relax. After all you can still run the business but let somebody help do the worrying. Boy I wish you could get
