August 9 Joined by 6 torpedo boats at 8 p.m. Was boxing when first seen them. But on submarine watch, couldn't talk to no one or take eyes off from water. August 10 Got orders to wear our life preservers all the time. August 11 Saw land the first time at 11 a.m. Whales. Sunday August 12 Docked at 730 a.m. at Liverpool England, landed at 905 a.m. Left at 10 a.m. We don't know where were going but were on our way.
