Pyote Army Base Pyote, Texas April 10, 1944 Dear Dave, I received your most welcomed letter today and was sure glad to get some news from home. I would sure like to continue getting these copies so just put me on your list. As for news from here of course theres lots but as usual can't say much. You know this is our final training before going over, which has narrowed down to a matter of days now, we have our whole crew of ten men, and they have been flying our pants off every day here. We have been in several close calls but our luck was with us and we pulled through alright. Got caught in a bad storm the other night was flying blind for five hours with our radio compass on the blink we really sweated it out but finally broke through and landed at Sheppard (over)
