New York City is only about 50 min. from here by air; Philadelphia is about 35 minutes. We fly over those cities quite often when we are just out "joy riding." Our training program is arranged so that we get off one day each week. That helps out a lot. Last weekend I went to Wilmington, Del. On my way up here from Blackstone I stayed over night in Washington D.C. It is quite crowded, but that old saying "the more, the merrier" still holds. Those Waves & Lady Marines think a pilot is just about "It"; and he is, of course! ha. Give my best regards to Mable. Guess you are keeping her plenty busy too with your letters. And how is the flock of chickens? Suppose you are raising some young ones preparatory for the Spring Fry Season. Must close for now. Keep up the good work. Sincerely, Lawrence [Lt. L.M. Whisler]
