Aug. 4. 1944 Dear Dave: Just recd two more Scuttlebutts & they are coming just about as regular as my wife's letters only not as often, of course. Dave, I don't think you can appreciate how much some of us fellows look forward to reading the mail bag (and this isn't for mail bag purposes) (just my sentiments). Take for instance your July 28th issue - lot of letters in there that makes a fellow feel pretty proud of his friends. Incidentally, in your July 7 issue was a letter by Jesse Jones. I don't believe I know him but there is a guy that put down in writing what was in my mind the last time I wrote - but didn't know how to say. What did Jones do - I can't place him at all. What do you know - I haven't moved - yet I can no longer mention where I am. Such a life. Anyway, our outfit is back together again - part of it anyway - with a few new additions. We are now Fleet Hospital #103 and just fooling around here getting organized. Don't know where we're going (naturally), but it's supposed to be up forward somewhere. I'll wager I could get fat & stuffy (well, stuffy anyway) around here yet before we move though. I've got charge of a bunch of seamen - who came in a little over three months ago. Most of them are my age or in their thirties - and we get along swell. Fact is - have been meeting quite a few people Donald R Boyer
