France 5 Aug 44 Dear Mr. Elder - Just a few lines to thank you for the Scuttlebutt which has been arriving regularly here in Normandy. I think its a swell publication and certainly enjoy the home town news as well as finding out how the rest of the fellows are doing. Everything has been going pretty well with me. We have been "going south" for several days now. As you probably read in the Des Moines paper, the "old outfit" is showing a good account of itself. The N.Y. Sun also carried an article last month. I saw Tommy Randall along the road
