August 5 1944 Dear Dave, I expect you think I am a good one when I was home on leave not so long ago for not coming in to see you but, Dave, those 3 1/2 days I had at home went so darn fast I just couldn't make it. I did get to see Bob McFarlane and talk with him for awhile. There sure isn't much I can write you about except to give you my new address, but maybe someday I can let you know. I better close as news is plenty scarce here so send me the news and I'll write later. So long, [Lt. Robert E. Thomas] Gene Thomas
