Aug 6-44 Hello Dave I haven't anything to do this evening I thought I'd drop you a few lines & try to explain a few things about this country. You put in your paper all about how we're fighting from Hedge row to hedge row. but you can't understand about until you've realy seen them. You take a piece of land about the size of the square of Washington & pile dirt about four to six feet high clear around it & have brush about ten feet tall on top of that dirt so thick you can't see a truck on the other side & you have the whole country like that maybe you can see what a tough job it is. In my last letter to you from England I made a few remarks about the air corp well since I've been here in France I've been darn glad to see those boy get in the air. alto they do get some of our own boys once in awhile. I can say this much an air show back home won't be very interesting to us when we get back. Thank a lot for send me the paper as Alvin Bonfir & I realy get a lot of home news from it Your friend Jesse C Jones [S/Sgt. Jesse C Jones]
