August 11--44 France Dear Dave, I have rec' a Couple "SB"s They are sure swell. It give us GI's an idea of where some of the boys are. I'll try and give you an idea of what we've gone threw. The Main part was the other day We got paid we came back for a couple days rest and of course still can be reached by Jerry artillery. Darn good thing They aren't as good as our Boys. I got paid with French money So I got paid 2600 Francs boy I thought I really had a pot full after the aid of another "Footslagger" I found I only had $62.00 some pieces being the size of the "Scuttlebutt" and darn pretty at least similar to our flower coupons, To some people nice Wall paper. They do have some Change but even that is in Franc notes. So I am sending
