air core boy out and take him down a notch or two. Same as the Navy but over here you have an entirely different attitude. For I've seen the air core come when we were pinned down and drop a few eggs and then do a little straffing. Then we can push further up. The Navy when we were taking "Cherbourg" showed they could handle their guns. At times it is very quiet and then all of the sudden Jerry's 88's will let one come or the Artillery but in return our boys open up on him and you don't hear another peep from him. I've seen some sights of men killed that will make your mind weak but as long its the enemies we don't mind. Some of our boys have been hit with shrapnel but they come back for more. These Yanks can really take it. I've been very lucky so far. The worst that has happened to me was to have an 88 hit on one
