out coffee and doughnuts to us now. The weather has been swell. Today the sun is shinning bright and it makes one take to the shade. There are white fluffy clouds to make it a perfect day. I received the July 29th Scuttlebutts last night and passed it on to Cheste McChurch this morning. He said he would like to receive it. His address is T4 Cheste McChurch. The rest is the same as mine. As we were going up a road the other day that was under artillery fire an Infantry man asked us why we get out of our vehicles when a shell comes. We told him he could have the car and all if he wanted it and we would gladly walk. He didn't want to traid. I have had the pleasure of being in some French homes and it is indescribable how the Germans have robbed these people. Write more next stop. Always, Clarence. [P.F.C. Clarence E. Haifley]
