Clarence W. Miller S.C. 1/C now days, with the shortage of help. The radio news sound pretty good now. Hope it will soon be over so we all may come home to our friends and loved ones. Every thing here in the New Hebrides remains about the same, with the same routine of work every day: I have had good duty out here and plenty of food so can't complain. I made my first class rate May first and that made me feel pretty good: I have been a Watch Captain in the galley for some time and guess I will as long as I am. Am hoping to come home as soon as my eighteen months are up and that won't be long now. I am enclosing one dollar to help pay the postage on my scuttlebutt edition from you. Keep it coming! As I appreciate getting it and I am sure all the boys do to. Its about time for me to go back to work. Will be expecting to hear from you again soon. Alway you friend Clarence W. Miller S.C. 1/C
